Unauthorised gatherings posing as congresses are being warned about by the Benue APC.

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Benue State, spearheaded by Austin Agada, has issued a warning about unlawful gatherings posing as congresses.

The APC claimed it had received information about dishonest people posing as APC congress organisers and having meetings in several LGAs around the state.

This was said in a statement released on Monday by Daniel Ihomun, the party’s state publicity secretary.

The legal APC Benue State Executive Committee has not given its approval for any such gatherings, and we want that to be very clear. Similarly, there is now no mandate from our great party’s National Secretariat to call for congresses in Benue State or anyplace else in Nigeria. There is no APC congress taking place in Benue State at this time.

It is important that individuals refrain from misrepresenting party members or bringing disgrace upon the APC by utilising the party name, even though individuals are permitted to attend private meetings. Accordingly, he urged all loyal party members to ignore any meetings that were being passed off as legitimate APC congresses.

Ihomun elaborated by saying that the power to approve such events lies solely with the APC national and state secretariats.
