According to Eme Okoro, a member of the Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) Board of Trustees (BoT), former Senate President Adolphus Wabara is still officially accepted as the PDP BoT chairman.
He was against Mao Ohuabunwa’s (a former senator from Abia North) nomination to chair the PDP’s board of transformative leaders.
Holding a supposed inauguration of a new BoT chairman in the private property of a party member was unconstitutional, according to Okoro, who condemned what he called impunity and disdain for the PDP constitution.

In response to rumours of Wabara’s ouster, the former Abia State Government Secretary remarked that PDP members who disagree with the party’s stance should look for other parties to join instead of trying to bring down the one that brought them success.
A member of the BoT who denied Umar Damagun’s purported replacement also expressed regret over Nyesom Wike’s claimed involvement in the party’s current issue.
Similarly, James Okpara, a former Abia State Commissioner for Housing, has stated that the PDP BoT’s decision to remove Adolphus Wabara from his position cannot be sustained.
Okpara, who had previously spoken out against Umar Damagum’s ouster as PDP national chairman, slammed the party’s opponents of the next national convention, calling their stand unpatriotic, unlawful, and fatal to the party’s future.
Our party’s whole essence is embodied during the national convention. It is here that the decisions that determine the course of our political history are crafted. According to Okpara, it is dishonourable for someone to profess love for the PDP while actively seeking to thwart the convention.
