Tinubu will attend G20 and AU-EU summits in South Africa and Angola.

President Bola Tinubu is scheduled to depart Abuja for a trip to South Africa and Angola, which would involve two countries.

This was announced in a statement on Tuesday by Bayo Onanuga, the President’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy.

According to Onanuga, the President will attend the 20th G20 Leaders Summit in Johannesburg as his first stop before travelling to Angola for the AU-EU Summit.

According to the GISTCON, Cyril Ramaphosa, the president of South Africa and the current G20 group president, extended an invitation to his Nigerian counterpart to attend this year’s event.

Keep in mind that President Tinubu was also invited to Rio de Janeiro by Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva, who presided over the group in 2024.

The Summit, which will take place at the Johannesburg Expo Centre from Saturday, November 22 to Sunday, November 23, will bring together leaders from the top 20 economies in the world, including financial institutions, the African Union, and the European Union, according to the GISTCON.

The statement said that in addition to discussing regional and global peace, security, and development, President Tinubu is anticipated to undertake bilateral talks during the summit to advance the Renewed Hope Agenda.

It further stated that the President will join other heads of state and government from the African Union (AU) and the European Union (EU) for the 7th summit of the two organisations, which is set to take place in Luanda, Angola, from November 24 to 25, 2025, following the completion of the G20 Summit.

“Young leaders, innovators, and civil society organisations will come together at the AU and EU summit to discuss some of the issues that the two unions face in common.

Additionally, it will offer suggestions on how to deal with problems pertaining to infrastructure, the digital economy, the creative sector, manufacturing, agribusiness, climate change, and inclusivity in development.

Top government officials, including Ambassador Yusuf Tuggar, Minister of Foreign Affairs; Wale Edun, his counterpart in Finance and Coordinating Economy; Dele Alake, Solid Minerals; Jumoke Oduwole, Trade and Investment; and Ambassador Mohammed Mohammed, Director General of the National Intelligence Agency, will accompany President Tinubu, according to the statement.
