Kenneth Azikwe, director of NAFDAC’s north central zone, has urged Niger State’s stakeholders to use the MSME Registration Scheme, which is designed for micro, small, and medium enterprises.
During a meeting with stakeholders in Minna, Azikwe made the plea, adding that the program enables the safe registration of low-risk food items with little infrastructure.
Saying, “Don’t keep quiet, report such products using your phone through the app,” he urged stakeholders to use the Net Safety App to report adverse drug reactions. When you lodge a complaint, our app-monitoring officers will look into it, and if it turns out to be harmful, we will remove the substance.

In addition, Azikwe urged all parties involved to check the legitimacy of medications and other controlled goods by downloading the Green Book app, which serves as a database of registered products.
In order for the NAFDAC to regulate chemical use, the director pleaded with stakeholders, especially those in the agricultural and chemical industries, to secure the appropriate licenses and certifications.
State Coordinator James Kigbu had earlier expressed his gratitude to the varied stakeholder groups for turning up to the meeting, which he had promised would encourage honest discussion and teamwork to guarantee safety, compliance with regulations, and ethical company practices.
All parties involved, including the Agro-Chemical Association, the Supermarket Owners Association, and the Industrial Pharmacy Section of the Pharmaceutical Society of Nigeria, expressed their gratitude to NAFDAC for organising the gathering. But they said the registration fees were too exorbitant, so they asked for a review.
The National Association of Environmental Health Officers of Nigeria, the Islamic Medicine and Prophetic Medicine Association, the Nigeria Association of Small and Medium Enterprises, NASME, and others were also present at the gathering.
