Attack on Malami’s convoy in Kebbi prompts DSS to question and invite him

Former Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice Abubakar Malami was invited and grilled by the Department of State Services, DSS, in relation to the attack on his convoy in Kebbi State.

Just after Malami returned from paying his condolences to the family of the late Chief Imam of Dr. Bello Haliru Jumu’ah Mosque on September 1, 2025, XANDERTECH recalls that suspected political thugs attacked his vehicle in Birnin Kebbi.

Malami acknowledged the request to assist the DSS inquiry in a Monday Facebook post.

He revealed in his letter that the Department of State Services (DSS) had asked him to help with an investigation into the assault on him and his convoy in Kebbi State on September 1, 2025.

According to Malami, state political opponents were behind the petition that led to the DSS invitation.

Nevertheless, he applauded the DSS for conducting the inquiry in a professional and open manner. “I was treated with the utmost respect and dignity, and I am determined to cooperate completely with the Department to guarantee that their investigation is appropriately completed,” he further stated.
