President Bola Tinubu’s frequent visits abroad, according to Peter Obi, a presidential candidate for the 2023 Labour Party, indicate that Tinubu feels uncomfortable staying in Nigeria.
This past Thursday, Obi slammed Tinubu in an X post for going on his annual vacation to France so soon after getting back from a fifteen-day run.
He brought up the fact that in the past two years, the president has made ten trips to France.

Obi expressed concern that the president would not be able to stay in Nigeria for an extended period of time.
The outgoing governor of Anambra state held Tinubu responsible for Nigerians’ deteriorating living circumstances, widespread hunger, and security threats when he left the country.
He referenced statistics showing that 79% of Nigerians are struggling with food insecurity and brought up the fact that Nigeria was recently ranked as both the worst country to give birth in and one of the worst countries to live in according to international rankings.
In addition, Obi brought up recent catastrophes such as the kidnapping of more than sixty individuals, the assaults in Katsina State that killed more than fifty, and the boat accident in Niger State that killed sixty women and children.
He said the president ought to have paid a visit to the victims’ relatives before leaving for another foreign tour.
There is no vacation that is more important than the lives of the Nigerians you pledged to defend, Obi remarked.
President Buhari should not take vacations abroad while the people of Nigeria are in need of his guidance, compassion, and physical presence.
