Soldiers free two hostages in Borno after killing four ISWAP terrorists

During a clearance operation in the Gajiram region of Borno State, troops from Operation Desert Sanity IV and Lake Sanity III killed four ISWAP members and freed two abducted captives.

Security analyst Zagazola Makama used his X handle to announce the change. The report said that the incident took place at around 2:35 p.m. on Thursday in Nganzai Local Government Area along the Gajiram-Bolori-Mile 40-Gajiganna route.

Two hostages, Modu Kinnami (55 years old) and Bukar (57 years old), both from Guzamala Local Government Area, were freed by the soldiers during the operation.

Earlier, the terrorists had wanted N2 million and two new mobile phones as ransom for the release of the victims, according to preliminary investigations.

There was a blue pickup truck with the license plate GUB 327 XA, two brand new Tecno phones, thirty gallons of petrol in a jerrycan and four and a half million Nigerian cedis.

As forces maintain rigorous patrols to forestall additional terrorist intrusions, the insider went on to say that the security situation in the region is peaceful but tight.
