The National Youth Service Corps, NYSC, has relocated its orientation camp from Yikpata, in the Edu Local Government Area of Kwara State, to Kwara State Polytechnic, Ilorin, as a result of security concerns.

Armed criminals have recently besieged certain communities in the Edu and Patigi local government areas of the Kwara North Senatorial District, as XANDERTECH recalls.

The relocation was approved by the state government in response to the increasing insecurity in the area, according to NYSC Kwara State Coordinator Onifade Olaoluwa Joshua, who confirmed the news on Thursday..

He stated that the decision was compelled by the security concerns raised by perpetrators and opponents of progress.

During the three-week orientation exercise, Onifade disclosed that soldiers and other security forces will be deployed to ensure the safety of corps members.

“The welfare of participants will be ensured, and we are fully equipped to host the orientation course,” he further stated.

The temporary venue in Ilorin will be inspected by a delegation from NYSC headquarters, and corps members are anticipated to report between September 24 and October 14, 2025, according to the coordinator.
