Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf of Kano State has agreed to the immediate end of the Board of the Kano State Consumer Protection Council.
Musa Tanko Muhammad, the Press Secretary to the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), said in a statement that the decision was made after a long leadership issue in the council that has continued despite many attempts to restore peace and make sure that everything runs well.

The statement read, “With this directive, the Chairman, Executive Secretary, and all members of the Board, including Ex-Officio members, are hereby relieved of their appointments with immediate effect.”

The SSG, Alhaji Umar Faruk Ibrahim, also told all officials who were affected to give the most senior officer of the council the affairs of their offices and all government property they had by the end of business on Monday, October 27, 2025.

He further said that the Office of the Secretary to the State Government—Research, Evaluation, and Political Affairs Directorate—and the Commissioner for Investment and Commerce should get all the handover papers.
