Nnamdi Azikiwe University administration in Awka has outright forbidden seniors from taking part in exam orchestration signing off.
The Registrar, Dr. Chinenye Okeke, signed a press release on Tuesday stating that the ban is effective immediately.
The reasons given by Okeke for issuing the instruction were the following: disorder, aggression, and interference with regular university operations.

The university administration has issued a statement stating that final-year students are strictly prohibited from using university property for any type of exam-related organising, including “signing off.” The ban is effective immediately. The repeated occurrences of disorder, aggression, and disturbance linked to these occurrences prompted this choice.
” Having unauthorised people on campus also endangers the safety of everyone on campus, including students, faculty, and staff. The university administration has taken this firm action because it is its responsibility to preserve order, protect life, and safeguard property, and it has decided that these behaviours are not acceptable.
Students face harsh disciplinary actions, up to and including rustication, if they are discovered participating in orchestration (‘signing off’) or similar activities. Arrest and prosecution for unruly conduct and breach of peace awaits any outsiders who venture onto university grounds in support of such events.
Okeke reaffirmed that the administration of the university is devoted to maintaining a risk-free setting for students to study and would not stand for anything that threatens this goal.
“We sincerely encourage all students to prioritise their academic work and promptly inform the proper authorities of any instances of misconduct or threats to safety,” the statement continued.
