On Friday, they saw that Abubakar was perfectly healthy, going about his normal routine as usual.

Bologi Ibrahim, the governor’s chief press secretary, issued a statement expressing condolences on behalf of the governor to the Etsu Nupe, Alhaji Yahaya Abubakar, chairman of the Niger State Council of Traditional Rulers, and the deceased’s family.

The three wives and children of the late Abubakar—who was in his early 50s—are left to mourn his passing.

He was a self-disciplined, devoted guy who did not hesitate to fight for justice, according to Governor Bago.
