Passengers en route from Kaduna to Abuja were left stuck on Thursday following a train malfunction shortly after departure.

The train departed Kaduna just after 2 p.m. but encountered a malfunction almost one hour into the voyage, necessitating its return to Kaduna.
Reports said that the train crew was originally unable to elucidate the situation; however, the train unexpectedly commenced reversing towards Kaduna midway through the journey.

An unnamed employee of the Nigeria Railway Corporation (NRC) in Kaduna verified that the train experienced an issue and necessitated a return for repairs.

The train departed for the 2 p.m. timetable but encountered difficulties en route and returned to Kaduna. The majority of passengers remain at the station, anticipating a prompt resolution, while others have returned home,” he informed Leadership.
