Wike reassures inhabitants of the Federal Capital Territory that Abuja is safe and secure

The capital city is safe and secure, according to Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Nyesom Wike.

Wike claimed that, in comparison to the previous administration, the capital city is now far safer.

During an inspection of the Wuye District Infrastructure and Federal Highway 105 from the Umar Musa Yar’Adua Motorway to Kuje township on Saturday, the Minister stated that the safety of Abuja was not defined by isolated security challenges.

His opinion was that Abuja was the safest city in the nation.

The issue here is that we tend to overlook the fact that three months ago, there was complete silence.

We are working a lot, along with the security forces, to make Abuja safe, and so far, that has been the case.

While we acknowledge the possibility of an event, we insist that Abuja is still safe. That shouldn’t make us think the city is unsafe, either. In my opinion, Abuja is the most secure metropolis in this nation.

With the FCT Administration actively removing carelessly thrown garbage, the Minister further promised that Abuja will be sanitised.

According to Wike, the disposal of waste along Airport Road and in the Nyanya/Karshi area has been initiated by FCTA.

Within the next two weeks, he will be awarding new garbage disposal contracts, and he promises to choose only qualified companies who can keep the city clean.

Formal award of the garbage disposal contract is expected to occur within the next two weeks, according to our estimates. He assured us that it will be of great assistance.
