Victor Osimhen, the Super Eagles striker, has affirmed that he observed an individual directing a laser light at him during Nigeria’s 4-1 victory over Gabon in the semi-final playoff for the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying on Thursday.
Osimhen scored two goals as Nigeria triumphed over the Panthers in Morocco.
Akor Adams and Chidera Ejuke, his teammates, also contributed to the scoring.

Nonetheless, laser light was observed on Osimhen’s face following his third goal for Nigeria versus Gabon.
Following the match, the Galatasaray forward acknowledged observing a spectator in the audience attempting to distract him with a laser pointer.
“I observed the individual directing the laser at me; the individual was situated in the stands,” Osimhen said ESPN UK.
“They are aware of the calibre of our quality.” They are attempting to utilise the laser to divert our attention. I simply continue onwards, without contemplation.
