Tonye Cole, an ex-APC candidate for governor in Rivers State, has called on Federal Capital Territory Minister Nyesom Wike to officially join the ruling party and put an end to rumours about his political leanings.
Cole suggested that Wike “leave the PDP and come to the APC” in order to prevent discord and uncertainty during his appearance on Friday’s Politics Today on Channels Television.
XANDERTECH states that since the general election of 2023, Wike has been in the middle of a long-running leadership dispute inside the PDP.

The minister openly served for the ruling APC, despite his claims of belonging to the PDP.
On the other hand, according to Cole, Wike’s transfer to APC would be good for democracy since it would give other political parties more room to grow without interference.
The political picture will be more defined, according to Cole, once Wike’s stance is known.
No, he firmly stated. This is due to the fact that Minister Nyesom Wike is the sole remaining individual who must declare his stance on the matter. And the one place I would beg him to do the most modest and honourable thing is to join the APC. Get out of the PDP and into the APC so that we can all see that we are now on the same side.
“One block is all it takes. We have arrived at this point in order to start manipulating the state’s party politics. Permit the PDP, the ADC, the Labour Party, and the YPP to exist. Let them all. That is the essence of democracy. Allow each side to gather their resources and enter the fray. At this point, no; but, once that occurs, we will know exactly where we are.
