The Rivers LG election is a farce and completely against the law, according to Jake Epelle.

The recently held Rivers State local government election has been slammed by TAF Africa CEO Jake Epelle, who has called it a democratic fraud.

This statement was made by Epelle on Monday during an appearance with Channels Television’s The Morning Brief, when she was responding to enquiries.

Since it was carried out by a democratically elected administration, he claimed, the exercise was completely unlawful.

It’s a shame we’re living through such interesting times politically, but what happened in Rivers State on Saturday was nothing short of unparalleled political manoeuvring—a charade, if you will. It even seems like a democratic hoax.

That is why I say that; it supports my argument. All aspects of the election that took place on Saturday were wholly unlawful and contrary to the constitution, in my opinion.

Our people, the Rivers State natives, are cultured and intelligent. I warned the people, particularly the decent young people of Rivers State, not to fall for their trap; they likely anticipated that people would protest in the streets.

“We cannot continue going in this direction; it is a complete and utter affront to the people of Rivers State,” he continued.
