Quarry owners are being cautioned by the Kano government not to intrude on water sources.

The administration of Kano state has issued a warning to sand quarry operators, urging them not to encroach on water board infrastructure and bridges.

The warning was delivered while the leadership of UTSQEN paid a courtesy visit to the Ministry of Mineral Resources in Nigeria.

“It is important for operators to adhere to designated boundaries for sand quarrying along rivers within the state,” said Hamza Safiyanu, commissioner for mineral resources, according to a statement signed by Adamu Ibrahim Dabo, director of public enlightenment at the ministry.
