Peter Obi, the presidential candidate for the Labour Party in 2023, has charged that the government is illegally and insensitively destroying people’s property without warning.
In a post on his verified X handle on Monday, Obi stated the action of the government is sinking Nigerians deeper into suffering.
According to the XANDERTECH, the trade fair facility in Ojo LGA, Lagos State, recently had some plazas destroyed.

Officials from the Lagos State Ministry of Physical Planning, Lagos State Building Control Agency, Lagos State Urban Renewal Agency, and the Lagos State Physical Planning Permit Authority reportedly conducted the operation.
The deliberate destruction of people’s houses, businesses, and products by government officials is still highly unacceptable, according to the former governor of Anambra.
According to him, such activities were reprehensible, especially under an administration whose policies had thrown millions of Nigerians into poverty within 29 months.
Obi went on to say that the government should put compassion and assistance programs for needy families first rather than making matters worse for its inhabitants.
“This is taking place all throughout the nation at a time when the government is meant to be helping people escape poverty. Rather, it is causing them to experience even more difficulty.
He added, “These demolitions threaten the economic security of hard-working citizens, destroy livelihoods, and undermine businesses.”
