According to Daniel Bwala, President Bola Tinubu’s Special Advisor on Policy Communication, US Senator Ted Cruz’s claims of Christian genocide in Nigeria are merely rumours.
In an interview with Channels Television’s “Sunday Politics,” Bwala made this claim.
Senator Ted Cruz claimed that the killings in Nigeria were a planned genocide against Christians, as the DAILY POST remembers.

In response, Bwala stated: “First of all, Senator Ted Cruz is losing support in the United States due to some of his radical stances, which have angered people.
Ted Cruz used findings from as far back as 2015 and even as far back as 2018. Regarding the 2025 killings, he mentioned the report they received from Sahara Reporters, a civil society organisation, and what they referred to as open source.
Nearly everything that was written was based on rumours. Now, if you are producing a report, you need to start at the very beginning. You must confirm the point. There is not a single indication in his report that it was the result of research conducted by their organisation.
One interesting aspect of his study is that, although he examined every murder that occurred in Nigeria, he chose not to include one. He went so far as to claim that the Nigerian security forces are responsible for all priest and Southern Nigerian civilian killings under the guise of fighting the Indigenous People of Biafra, or IPOB.
