Convention: Bode George Advocates for Compliance with PDP Regulations

Bode George, a member of the Board of Trustees of the Peoples Democratic Party, stated that the party adheres to the law and upholds the rule of law.

George issued this declaration on Friday during an interview on Politics Today, a program on Channels Television observed by GISTCON.

He was addressing the dispute around the party’s National Convention set for November 15 and 16.

GISTCON says that the PDP has recently been mired in internal political disputes, leading to a division into two sections. The side aligned with the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, is led by Abdulrahman Mohammed, and the opposing faction is chaired by Umar Damagum.

GISTCON reports that Justice Peter Odo Lifu of the Federal High Court in Abuja has granted a definitive judgement prohibiting the party from conducting its 2025 National Convention planned for Ibadan, Oyo State.

George stated, “We (PDP) are a law-abiding organization.” Let us demonstrate to Nigerians our commitment to the rule of law. One cannot disregard a court verdict and simultaneously seek to assume control of governance; we must adhere to the court’s ruling.
