After a calf injury, Rafael Leao will not play in AC Milan’s season-opening match against Cremonese, the Serie A club announced on Tuesday.

On Sunday, Milan defeated Bari 2-0 in the Italian Cup, and winger Leao of Portugal was listed as having a “strain to his right calf” as a result.

This player will not be eligible to play against Cremonese, but Milan said they will evaluate him daily in the lead-up to their match against Lecce.
Shortly after scoring in the 14th minute at the San Siro, Leao departed the pitch in the match against Bari.
