The FCT water projects will be flagged off today when Wike commences commissioning.

New water project commissionings and flag-offs have begun in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) under the leadership of Minister Nyesom Wike.

Lere Olayinka, the Minister’s Senior Special Assistant on Public Communications and Social Media, made this announcement on Tuesday.

The Lower Usuma Dam Water Treatment Plant in Ushafa, Bwari Area Council, was renovated and commissioned by Wike, according to the announcement.

We are starting a new cycle of projects today, following the completion of 16 days of commissioning in the FCT, which concluded on July 3.

In Ushafa, Bwari Area Council, the Lower Usuma Dam’s Phase 2 Water Treatment Plant, which has been completely restored, is being commissioned today.

Bwari Township in Bwari Area Council would be the first of our satellite towns to have its water supply expanded and constructed tomorrow, with the same project launching on Thursday for Karu town and its environs in Abuja Municipal Area Council, the statement said.

During the launching of the Greater Abuja Water supplies Project on June 16, Wike said that the FCT administration had secured a new agreement to expand water supplies to satellite settlements like Bwari, Kubwa, and Karu. This agreement was struck after President Tinubu’s 2023 visit to China.
He promised on-time project completion and mentioned that procurement for the additions is nearly finished.
