In order to express his condolences to the community and the families who lost loved ones to the recent attacks by armed kidnappers, Kwara State Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq travelled to Oke Ode in Ifelodun Local Government Areas on Thursday.
According to XANDERTECH, 12 persons, including the Baale of Ogba-Ayo, were killed in the attack on the Ogba-Ayo community in Oke-Ode town in the state’s Ifelodun Local Government Area last Sunday. An unknown number of people were also kidnapped.
Alongside security commanders and other high-ranking government officials, the governor offered prayers for the deceased’s rest, praised the security forces for their work, and assured the populace that peace will return soon.

The governor also expressed condolences and sympathy to all the communities affected by the breaches, from Ifelodun to Irepodun, Isin, Ekiti, Edu, and Patigi Local Government Areas, according to a statement released Thursday in Ilorin by his spokesperson, Rafiu Ajakaye.
“We’re here to offer our condolences to the community for the attacks. He also praised the vigilantes, forest guards, and security forces for driving them out and bringing peace back to the neighbourhood.
“It has been really difficult. Everything is being done to lessen its consequences and ensure that these kinds of incidents stop.
Adekimi Ojo, the Commissioner of Police; Dr. Umar Mohammed, the State Director of DSS; Muyideen Aliyu, the Senior Special Assistant on Security; and Femi Yusuf, the Chairman of Ifelodun LGA, were all in his entourage.
Security personnel and a few stakeholders from Oke Ode and nearby Igbaja, including the youth leader, Elder Oyin Zubair, and Alhaji Abdulganiyu Ajala, the national president of the Oke Ode Development Association, briefed the governor.
In an earlier statement, the governor expressed sympathy for the impacted towns and stated that much more work needs to be done to safeguard the people and their belongings.
