Liverpool player slammed by Arne Slot for 2-1 loss to Crystal Palace in English Premier League

The 2-1 Premier League loss to Crystal Palace on Saturday was attributed by Liverpool manager Arne Slot to Jeremie Frimpong.

The unblemished start of the champs was shattered by Eddie Nketiah’s thrilling last-gasp winner.

In the first stages, Palace were in control and went ahead thanks to Ismaïla Sarr.

After a string of excellent stops from Alisson kept Liverpool in it, Federico Chiesa scored to tie the game.

However, the home team won thanks to a lengthy throw-in that the Reds were unable to manage.

In the 74th minute, Frimpong replaced Ibrahima Konaté and was brought down by the ball after substitute Curtis Jones glanced at it accidently. He was beaten by Nketiah, who used the open field to outrun Alisson.

According to Slot, “We can only blame ourselves for defending the way we did,” before dropping a hint about Frimpong’s error.

The only option was to defend after one of our players ran out to try a counterattack, but it was pointless since the clock was ticking.

“We lost because one of our players was overly aggressive at the crucial moment that they scored the winning goal.”
