Shay Given, the former goalie for Newcastle United, seems to have had second thoughts about the Premier League title chase.

Before the season began, Given had predicted that Liverpool would win the title again and that Arsenal would place second for the fourth consecutive year.

He went on to say that Chelsea and Manchester City would round out the top four.

However, Given thinks “this is their opportunity” after being impressed by Arsenal’s performances thus far this season.

On Saturday, Mikel Arteta’s team defeated Nottingham Forest 3-0 to take the lead in the standings for at least a few hours.

“Look at Arsenal’s strength in depth now, this is probably the strongest squad Mikel Arteta has had,” Given stated in his match analysis on the BBC’s Match of the Day.

“I believe this is their chance to win the Premier League.

“Arteta has assembled a very formidable team, and if they can keep most of them healthy, they must think this is their year.”
