The FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, suggested on Monday that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) national convention might not take place for various reasons.
Ibadan, Oyo State is set to host the PDP national conference in November.
The convention might not take place, according to Wike, unless the party problem is handled.

During his monthly media interview, the minister stated: “People should understand that the problem is not with the National convention, but with the problems that led up to it.”
A committee to represent Ebonyi and the Southeast has been agreed upon by PDP.
You will hear from our team when they gather at 7 o’clock today. We aren’t arguing against the convention’s location; rather, we’re pointing out that, barring proper preparation, the event is highly unlikely to take place.
Some people think I claimed the convention wouldn’t be held in Ibadan because I’m fighting with Seyi, but you should be the one to write what we said truthfully.
“The location is irrelevant. Have you taken all the necessary steps before holding the convention? the is the question at hand. Then you go and say that I was wrong when I claimed that Ibadan would not be hosting the convention.
“We have previously had conventions in many locations; for example, Port Harcourt and Abuja. The party is free to choose between Sokoto and Borno, but our main point is that you should have completed all of your duties before you arrive at the convention.
According to what I’ve learnt, the PDP has taken measures to ensure that the issues are being addressed. If the issues are rectified to the satisfaction of the complainant, then there won’t be any problems. However, if they aren’t, then they will definitely take action.
